2023 Cuvée Landucci Rosé

One of my favourite wines to date. One single barrel; it was always a standout. 
Grown in the southern end of the Landsborough Valley, under organic certification, this is very unique Pyrenees Syrah. The fruit was hand picked and gently pressed straight to small format french barrique. It stayed there for 20 months, untouched, slowly and gracefully building in character. 
For me, on the nose it is reminiscent of great sparkling wine. Hits of citrus with gentle oxidation and a light character of lees. Riper fruits on the palate. Citrus to stone fruits with a brush of wild fennel fronds. Excellent balance of fruit, acidity and texture. A special wine of mine to share with yours.

Subtle aromas of strawberry, balsamic, dried herbs, bran and cedar, and blood orange waft gently from the glass. High toned notes of menthol and eucalypt add complexity and freshness.

Aeration brings firmness. What marks this wine is the extremely beautiful and singular texture: almost impossibly silken, soft and caressing, with beautifully integrated tannins and phenolics fully integrated, and a slight crescendo of acidity towards the lingering and pure finale. Myriad strawberry, some cherry, garrigue, orange rind, and a slight salty nuttiness towards the close. A magnificent wine.” DAVID WM MURRAY
